LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The course aims to analyze the theoretical basis and the (limits of the) application of the economic functions (and the fiscal functions, in particular) of the State, towards (regional) economic development, putting emphasis on the functions of public administration and local government in Greece as well as on the institutional framework of the EU.
LEARNING OUTCOME
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand the limits of the economic operation of the State, the spatial impacts of fiscal functions and the special care that is shown (if any) for the achievement of the regional development target.

Students’ performance evaluation will be based on one take-home personal assignment (maximum grade: 10 points; weight: 100% in calculating the final grade).
