Anastasia Tasopoulou is Assistant Professor of Urban Planning Policies at the Department of Planning and Regional Development, University of Thessaly, Greece. She holds a Dip.Eng. in Planning and Regional Development (University of Thessaly, GR), an M.Sc. in Development and Planning: Urban Development Planning (University College London, UK) and a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, GR).
Since 1999 she has been involved in 15 research programs (several of which European-funded, e.g. Horizon2020, ESPON, INTERREG, Intelligent Energy Europe) in the fields of spatial planning, urban-metropolitan-sustainable governance, institutionalized integrated energy-spatial planning, participatory planning tools / living labs, sustainable urban planning and development, regional resilience, spatial impacts of transport infrastructure, planning traditions etc. She has 20 years of professional experience in spatial planning and development projects of all territorial and government levels in Greece (e.g. strategic spatial plans, local urban plans, detailed street layout plans, studies for urban renewal, urban accessibility plans etc). She is co-author of the book “Sustainable cities. Adaptation and resilience in times of crisis” (in Greek) and the author or co-author of 47 research papers published in scientific journals, conference proceedings and books. She is Vice President of the Board of the Hellenic Association of Urban and Regional Planners (SEMPXPA). She is elected member and curator of the Scientific Committee of Urban and Regional Planners of the Technical Chamber of Greece and member of the Permanent Committee for Spatial Planning and Development of the Chamber’s Department of Central Macedonia.
